We had a great weekend of soccer clinics with Haitian Born Ricardo Pierre-Louis, his wife Nika, and some of the top media team members from One Hope. Ricardo played soccer on several Haitian National team before moving to the States a few years ago and playing professionally for the Columbus Crew. While with us, Ricardo hosted three soccer clinics utilizing several of our Haitian One Hope Zone Coordinators. Each clinic began with children participating in soccer drills, practice stations, and game experience. Then, Ricardo (top picture) invited the attending kids to come around him to hear his personal testimony and encourage them to follow the Lord. Finally, each child received a special "Champions" edition copy of the "Book of Hope" designed around soccer and team building themes. (middle picture) The "Champions" book has created a lot of excitement among the children and youth who have received it so far. (bottom picture)
Let's continue to pray that God will open more doors for us and other ministry partners to use Soccer as an Evangelism tool in Haiti. Thanks Ricardo, Nika and the "One Hope" Media Team for a great weekend!
